doors and yet you can get more images of our activities and other interesting images in
and around Singapore.
Teachers and students
are free to make use of the images for their Social Studies work. The majority are images
of places, people and things in and around Singapore. Do acknowledge the source when
publishing any of the images.
The images have been
classified according to various broad categories. Please click on the links provided to locate what interests you. As far as possible, we have tried to classify the images according
to broad topics in the Social Studies syllabus.

| PLACES OF INTEREST | Includes images of relevance to the Social Studies syllabus such as national monuments and off-the-track areas like the hi-tech farms located in the agrotechnology parks. |

| The Central Business District of Singapore is the heart of the city where many shopping centres, commercial buildings and hotels line the streets. Images of the cbusiness centre of Singapore, the downtown area and Raffles Place can be found here. | |
| The historical areas of Singapore have been kept vibrant and bustling by its fascinating sights and sounds. The buildings in these areas have also been restored under the URA's conservation programme. Included are images of Little India, Chinatown, Kampong Glam, Kranji and Changi. | |
| Land, sea and air transport will be included. Images of our road networks, the air and sea ports will be of special interest. | |
| The Singapore River was teeming with life during the early days of Singapore when it was the main waterway used by traders for the loading and unloading of goods to and from trading ships. The images here reflect the changes which the river has since undergone. | |
| The roads around Rosyth School bear Scottish names. The area used to be a kampong but has now transformed completely into a middle class residential area comprising low and medium rise housing, including several educational institutions and religious buildings. | |
| The costumes featured here are those worn by Rosyth's pupils and staff during the past two years' Racial Harmony Day commemoration in the school. These include costumes of the Malays, Chinese and Indians as well as other ethnic groups. | |
| The panoramas featured here are those of various scenes and events taken in the school. Included are images of the National Day ceremony. |
