Information on Direct School Admission (DSA) to Hai Sing Catholic School

DSA 2012 Robotics- HAI Robotics Excellence Development Programme

Under the Direct School Admission (DSA), Hai Sing Catholic School will exercise greater flexibility for up to 5% of our yearly secondary one student intake. Please see below for our school DSA criteria. Short listed applicant will need to undergo an interview.

HAI Robotics Excellence Development Programme is open to all primary 6 pupils who have two or more of the following competencies.

Competency One: Robotics building and programming skills.

Competency Two: Awards in Robotics, ICT or Science-related competitions.

Competency Three: Leadership skills.

DSA APPLICATION PROCESS

ONE

1. Applicants are required to download DSA application Form from the school website.

2. Application form must be submitted personally to the school general office or by registered mail.

3. All application forms must reach the school by 13 July 2012.

4. Application form must be submitted with the following documents.
- Certify copies of academic results from Primary 4 to Primary 6 (Mid Year Examination).
- Certify copy of CCA records
- Certify copies of participation and/or awards obtained in any competitions.
- Certify copies of student testimonial.

1. Application starts from 14 May 2012 to 13 July 2012.

3. All application forms must reach the School by 13 July 2012.

5.** For students not studying in main stream schools, you are required to request for a letter from Ministry of Education to approve your DSA application. This letter will issue you with a Registration Number which is required in the DSA application form.

TWO

1. Only short listed applicants will be notified by email by 16 July 2012

2. Shorted listed applicants will be required to attend an interview.

3. Date and time of the selection interview will be informed.

4. Students are required to be on time for the interview and wear their school uniform.

1. Selection process will be carried out from 16 July to 31 August 2012.

2. Parents are allowed to accompany the child to school but not during the interview.

3. Parents are advise not to change the assigned interview schedule unless for valid reasons. Please call Mr. Teo or Mdm Lee at 65827864 for rescheduling.

THREE

1. All DSA applicants will be notified by 31 August 2012 on the outcome of their application.
- A confirmed offer or
- Placed on waiting list or
- Rejected

FOUR

1. All DSA applicants will each receive a School Preference Form on 22 October 2012 from their respective primary school.

2. The School Preference Form is to be returned to their respective primary school.

1. DSA applicants who have received more than one confirm offer (CO) may indicate their school of choice (up to maximum three choices).

2. The respective primary school will follow up the DSA process.

3. Once a confirm offer (CO) is accepted by the applicant, he/she will not be allowed to participate in the Secondary One Posting Exercise. And will not be allowed to transfer to another school after the release of PSLE results.
